With the holidays just around the corner, a community event is hoping to raise funds to ensure everyone will have a hot meal to enjoy.
The Brazil Walnut Theater will host "Celebrating Recovery with Smiles," presented by Les Rivera, Nov. 18-19, from 6-8 p.m., each evening.
The theater is located at 24 S. Walnut St., Brazil.
The event will be a live praise and worship including music and comedy routines.
Some of the entertainment will include stand-up comedy by Uncle Les and Clay County Deputy Prosecutor Kim Jackson
Various other local artists will perform during the event, highlighted by P150 and a choir from the House of Hope.
"Celebrating Recovery with Smiles" is a praise and worship interactive Christian event with the purpose of giving back to the community to help those who are helping others.
It is open to anyone who wants to experience good clean fun while giving praise to God or those who have experienced hurt, habit or hang-up.
The main benefactor of this event will be the Clay County Food Pantry. Serving on the Streets and the House of Hope will also be supported, along with another benefactor to be chosen during the event, as 100 percent of donations will go to support community organizations.
Tickets for the event will be available at the door. A suggested ticket donation is $3, but no one will be turned away.
The theater's concession stand will be open during the event.
