North Clay Cross Country members to advance

North Clay Middle School Cross Country team members Cam Trout, Dawson Nelson, Travis Beil, Nic Yocom and Emily Conrad competed at the Junior Olympics Cross Country qualifier on Saturday, Nov. 7, in Carmel.

In order to advance to the regional competition, the runners had to place 40th or better. Nic Yocom and Travis Beil, eighth graders, placed second and 31st in the 4 km race. Cam Trout and Dawson Nelson, sixth graders, placed 19th and 40th in the 3 km race and Emily Conrad, a seventh grader, placed 28th in the 4 km girls race.

All runners will participate in the regional competition to be held at the Lavern-Gibson course on Nov. 28.
