She was born March 6, 1931, in Clay County, the daughter of Virgil and Lucille Wells Black.
She graduated from Van Buren High School. In her working career, she was employed at Baeslers, CBS, Mallory's in Greencastle and Kroger as a cashier. She also baked pies for Flicks and the Double N Dinner for several years.
She enjoyed traveling to many areas of the South and to England.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Marilene Dellacca and Wilma Jean Cummings.
Survivors include her children Randall Nevins and wife Jacque, Brazil, Rickie Nevins and wife Nancy, Parke County, and Donna Williams and husband Tim, South Bend, seven grandchildren Shannon Sampson, Shelly Atkinson (DJ), Kenny Nevins (Jody), Doug Nevins, Erica Thompson, Kori Nevins, and Nichole Williams and fiancÚ Ryan Keller, nine great-grandchildren, Whitney Sampson, Justin Sampson, Trent Nevins, Madison Nevins, Dalton Atkinson, Braden Nevins, Hunter Atkinson, Parker Atkinson and Cooper Atkinson, other nieces, nephews and extended family.
Services will be Monday, at 1 p.m., at French Funeral Home, with Pastor Jeff Bridgewater officiating. Burial will follow at Calcutta Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
