Northview frosh fall to Panthers

Tuesday, November 24, 2009

Times Staff Report

BLOOMINGTON -- Northview's freshman boys basketball team opened its season Monday night with a 57-38 loss at Bloomington South.

The game was tied 12-12 after one quarter and the Panthers led 29-24 at halftime. Bloomington South broke the game open in the third quarter by outscoring the Knights 15-7.

Craig Peters led all scorers with 15 points, while Braden Parr added 11, Philip Lalen had eight, Jordan Tracy had three and Devin Clark had one.

"We played very well for the first 10 minutes of the game, then we got a little tired and they started beating us off the dribble too much," Coach Joey Bennett said. "This game did a good job of exploiting some of our weaknesses, and we will spend a lot of time working on those. It was a good effort."

Northview will host Owen Valley at 6 p.m. Monday.
