OrthoIndy and Indiana Orthopaedic Hospital (IOH) officials recently announced a new partnership with St. Vincent Health to increase access to orthopaedic services for patients and families throughout Indiana.

Through this partnership, Chris P. Bales, MD, of OrthoIndy, will now see patients and perform surgery at St. Vincent Clay Hospital.

Dr. Bales specializes in shoulders and sports medicine.

"This new partnership with OrthoIndy and IOH is significant as we continue to bring highly specialized care to our community," St. Vincent Clay Hospital Administrator Jerry Laue said. "Families of Clay County have immediate access to orthopaedic office visits, surgery and rehabilitation services."

Prior to joining OrthoIndy, the board-certified orthopaedic surgeon provided care for several collegiate and professional sports teams, including the Stanford University football team and the San Francisco 49ers.

Dr. Bales earned his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Mich., and his fellowship at Stanford University in Palo Alto, Calif.

Dr. Bales is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and Alpha Omega Alpha.
