Tri Kappa is hosting its Annual Christmas Home Tour this Sunday. Sam Glover's delightfully decorated home is being featured on this year's tour. The two-bedroom home was built in 1970 and has 2,263 square feet of space. The home includes a full basement.

Glover's charming Walnut Street home is decked wall to wall. A white tree with silver and gold decorations graces the foyer. A Bombay chest, purchased from an auction is topped with silver and gold trimmings. Nearby a large blue jar, made by Glover's sister, sits next to the chest. A unique barometer hangs on the wall, a gift from Brian Deakins. The walls are adorned with botanical print wallpaper.

A seven-foot tall Christmas tree decorated with brightly colored glass ornaments stands tall in the living room. Glover houses much of his collection of nativity scenes in his room. Comfy furniture offers seating and a family heirloom hutch stands tall. The hutch is from Glover's parents. The hutch has two glass doors and includes a roll top desk. The discerning eye will notice a hairline crack in the roll top, caused by an adventurous cat. An Asian themed secretary desk, a gift from his aunt, sits in a corner.

The kitchen has a snowman motif. Snowman cookie jars and snowman pieces fill the shelves and space.

The dining room holds a slender tree covered in sugared fruit ornaments. A beautiful chandelier hangs above the dining room table. Reindeer prance about the room.

The family room is Santa filled! Glover has collected Santas from all over. He adds to his collections at auctions, from travels, and even a few yard sale treasures. The tall tree holds only Santa ornaments. The bookshelves are completely occupied by Santa figures, items, and statues. Keep an eye out for the University of Tennessee Santa, a tribute to Glover's roots, created by Dave Snyder. Upon the top of the entertainment center is a colorful Nativity. This set was purchased at an auction when Glover's children were young. The set was missing a baby Jesus; Glover's daughter gave him one of her own small dolls as a stand in. look for the baby in Mary's arms. Also, a childhood stocking is hanging in the room. A member of Glover's family's church made it for him when he was an infant.

The master bedroom is painted in khaki. The grand bed is topped with bedding in red and gold tapestry with elephants lining the fabric. Pieces of Glover's elephant collection can be found in the master bedroom. Most of the elephant collection has been retired to make way for Christmas, but keen eyes will find hints, including a light switch.

The guest room is inviting, painted in warm moccasin. The bedding is a neutral thick satin. Between the bedrooms is one of the home's two and a half bathrooms. This bathroom features pale yellow tile and fixtures. Striped yellow and white wallpaper tops off the room.

Along with Glover, the Home Tour includes the homes of: Jayne Merritt, Josh and Carissa Clarke, and Matt and Whitney Rains.

The Home Tour will take place Sunday from 1-5 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the main branch of Riddell National Bank, or by calling Meganne at 442-1300 or Larissa at 448-9620.
