Those interested in a night out with a dinner and a show have the opportunity to do just that this weekend.

Running Thursday through Saturday, the Community Theatre of Clay County, Inc., 8 E. National Ave., Brazil, will "Celebrate the Season" with nightly performances and a buffet dinner.

Director B. Lee Reberger told The Brazil Times the show will be split into two portions, with musical accompaniment from Marilyn Burdsall.

"The first half of the show will be a skit set in 1942 about a soldier who has the opportunity to come home for Christmas," he said. "Inevitably, it does not work out that way, but it does have a happy ending."

Playing the part of the soldier will be Matt Tribble, who will be making his way back to the stage after a two-year absence, and Alyssa Pappinchock will be playing the role of the soldier's wife.

Reberger added the skit would include carols and other songs from the era, while the second half of the performance would feature traditional cantatas.

"We have 23 people who will be in the show," he said. "Some of them are veterans to the stage while others are new, and it is nice to be able to see some new faces performing."

Reberger emphasized there are a limited number of seats remaining for the performances, which typically sell out, and all tickets must be purchased in advance. Tickets are $25, which includes a buffet dinner along with the show, and may be purchased by calling Lisa Beyers at 442-6909.

The dinner buffet will be served at 6:30 p.m., with the show to begin at 7:30 p.m., each evening.

The phone number for tickets/reservations, may also be used to inquire about additional information about the theater, upcoming performances or to request a brochure and information about season ticket options.
