Alta Fay Clark, 81, Brazil, died Nov. 29, 2009, at Exceptional Living Center, Brazil.
She was born Sept. 2, 1928, in Greencastle, the daughter of Otho Ray Ruark and Alta Eloise Shaner Ruark. On Sept. 27, 1947, she married John Eugene Clark. He preceded her in death in August 1993.
In her work career, she was employed at Windbreaker Factory and was a manager at the Villa Motel in Brazil. She last worked as a caregiver for several people in Brazil.
She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post #2. She enjoyed crocheting, vegetable gardening and canning. She also had a talent for painting and enjoyed fishing. She also was a member of the Red Hat Society while living at the Exceptional Living Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sisters Florence Atkinson, Ethel Knauer and Nellie Ruark, and her twin brother Otho Ray Ruark.
Survivors include her three children, Mary Trefz (James), Carbon, Johnny Clark (Sandra), Center Point, and Kelly Clark and fiancÚ Robert McFarlin, several grandchildren including the oldest Jim True (Nissa) and youngest Austin Trefz, several great-grandchildren including, Mackenzie Fay True, Calvin True and Trinity Trefz, two nephews Tom Vanzo, Rosedale, and Jack Ruark (Sandy), Bradenton, Fla., and other extended family.
Private family graveside services were held Wednesday, at 1 p.m., at Clearview Cemetery, with Pastor Richard Piatt officiating. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Church of Christ, c/o Richard Piatt, 1990 W Co Rd 1200 N, Brazil, IN 47834.
