For the last 10 years Shaw Chiropractic, Brazil has been a drop-off site for the Marine Corp Reserves "Toys for Tots" campaign. Even with economic hard times, Dr. Julie Anderson-Shaw is very pleased with the results of this years campaign. A local business is celebrating another successful year of giving to the children in need in Clay County.

"Seeing patients and the community giving for a cause is a very positive thing," Dr. Julie Anderson-Shaw said.

"There is always a lady who comes in and writes a $100 check and another wrote a $50 check telling us to buy the biggest bike we could find."

For one week during the past 10 years, patients at Shaw Chiropractic, Brazil have teamed up with the Marine Corp Reserves "Toys for Tots" campaign and has been proud to sponsor the event.

All the toys collected will be distributed in Brazil, under the supervision of the Clay County Christmas Assistance Program.

A final count will not be available until after the money collected has been used to buy toys, but Dr. Shaw believes even with the economic hard times people were still able to give.

"Its about the people giving the toys so these kids can have a nice Christmas," she said. "Thank you to the patients and the community for their years of giving."

I think it's great to help the less fortunate. Are Chiropractors really doctors?
