James Edwin Clutter, 82, Plainfield, passed away Dec. 7, 2009.
He was born Aug. 20, 1927, in Brazil, to the late James C. and Ruth N. Clutter. He was the former owner of Jeco Plastic Products, Plainfield, retiring in 1999 after 20 years. He also owned J.E. Clutter and Associates from 1965-1979. His career began in the experimental assembly area for Allison Division of GM and lasted 17 years. He was a WWII Army veteran and member of the American Legion Post No. 2 in Brazil. His other memberships include Brazil Masonic Lodge No. 541, Indianapolis Scottish Rite, Indianapolis Shrine, several antique auto clubs and he was a charter member of the WWII Memorial in Washington, D.C.
He was preceded in death by sister Esther Trout.
Survivors include his wife Marjean Clutter, daughters Suzanne Boyd, Pamela Graves and Melinda DeLong, sister Alma Frost, five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Jim was an active member in Plainfield Christian Church where a funeral service will be held today, at 10:30 am. Visitation was Wednesday, Dec. 9, from 4-8 p.m., at Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home. Burial will be in Clearview Cemetery, Brazil.
