The ladies of Peniel United Methodist Church hosted their first Advent Tea Monday, Dec. 7.

Tables were decorated and food was prepared by the eight hostesses, with 54 ladies attending the first event.

Each table had an individual look with various themes, including Nativity Scenes and Angels.

Every table was decorated with fine china, boughs and evergreen and holly, holiday colored candles, and lots of holiday linens.

Devotions explaining the origins and the importance of Advent, asking each lady present to put herself in Mary's place as if she were chosen to be the mother of Emanuel at the second coming.

Traditional Christmas carols closed the evening.
