The Modern Homemakerss Club met at the Brazil American Legion for a delicious Fried Chicken Dinner, with ten members present.
Anna Mae Fagg gave the Devotions, entitled "Old Fashioned Things."
The Pledge of Allegiance and Homemakers Creed were said by all.
Roll call was our favorite shopping place.
The Health and Safety was the "Signs of a Stroke."
The lesson was "Yes! Thank you Power Pays."
Coins for Friendship were collected.
The next meeting was Dec. 3, for the Christmas Party.
Van Buren Homemakers
The Van Buren Homemakers met on Dec. 8, at the Double 'N Diner, for their annual Christmas Party. President Evelyn Nevins returned thanks for the lunch.
Five members were present for roll call, Virginia Phillips, Marcia Davis, Leah Rae McMichael, Myrna Schrader and Evelyn, along with two guests, Virginia Funk and Earl Shaffer.
The club welcomed Evelyn back with a gift, as we missed her a lot.
No business or lessons this month. Grab bag gifts were exchanged.
The next meeting will be Jan. 21, at Myrna's, at noon. The lesson given will be "Ordinary Things Used in Extraordinary Ways."
Kappa Alpha Theta
The Kappa Alpha Theta alumnae Chapter in Bloomington will be sponsoring the 49th annual Antique Show and sale on Saturday, Feb. 21, and Sunday, Feb. 22.
The show will feature dozens of dealers from across the Midwest, selling collectibles and wares, as varied as silver, china, toys, clothing, jewelry and prints.
All proceeds from the show benefit local and national charities, with a particular emphasis on helping women and girls.
