The Wabash Valley Football Coaches Association met recently to select the First, Second and Honorable Mention players to the annual All-Wabash Valley Team.
All seniors elected to the First Team will participate in the annual all-star game to be played June 26 at ISU Memorial Stadium.
Marshall's Todd Evers will coach the North team and South Putnam's Troy Burgess will coach the South team. Each head coach was elected by their peers.
Jonathan Bradshaw of the Northview Knights was elected as the First Team tight end after making 36 receptions for 372 yards and five touchdowns. He also haled in eight two-point conversions this season for the 8-2 Knights.
Northview was also represented by Second Team members, Scotty Wheeler on the offensive line and wide receivers Zac Niehaus and Drake Stevenson.
Niehaus, a junior, topped the Knights with 46 catches for 663 yards and eight touchdowns. Stevenson was close behind for the high powered Knights' offense, grabbing 40 passes for 639 yards and seven touchdowns and also had 31 rushes for 173 yards and a touchdown.
Junior quarterback Trent Lancaster was selected as an offensive at-large player after throwing for 2,053 yards and 23 touchdowns against just 11 interceptions. Lancaster also ran for 951 yards and 13 touchdowns.
On the Honorable Mention list for the Knights was Anthony Hubbard, Jacob Musgrave, Andrew Butts, Damon Hyatt, Chance Talbot, Hunter Robertson and Beau Judd.
The All-Star rosters for the game will be announced in mid-January.
