Charles "Andy" W. Anderson, 71, Brazil, died Dec. 23, 2009, at 11:10 p.m., at the Exceptional Living Center.
He was born Dec. 23, 1938, in Ceres, Va., the son of Bane Anderson and Lola Sparks Anderson.
He graduated from Ceres High School.
He came to the Indianapolis area to live with his sister following graduation. He first worked as an airplane mechanic at the Weir-Cook Airport and in November 1961, he began working at Allison's Gas and Turbine engines. He was employed there for more than 30 years.
In 1988, he moved to the Brazil area. On Dec. 29, 1979, he married Carol Downing Anderson. She survives.
Andy enjoyed raising Western-Pleasure riding horses, working with leather, country music, target shooting and hunting. But most of all, he was a family man.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Dorothy Anderson, and his first wife Cynthia Scott Anderson.
Survivors include his wife Carol, Brazil, children Scott Anderson, Cheryl Denman, Becky Lewis, Ron Roberson and Christina Woodworth, grandchildren Cody Harper, Sergio Lewis, Ron Roberson Jr., Chelsea Rose, Kershana Anderson, Dylan Dickison, Katlyn Anderson and Kyle Priest, nephew John Christopher Anderson and other extended family.
Services will take place at 7 p.m., Wednesday, at French Funeral Home, with Pastor Don Black officiating. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m., Wednesday.
Cremation was chosen with burial of the ashes in Maple Hill Cemetery in Plainfield at a later date.
