Ivy Tech to offer classes at LEAAP Center

Higher education opportunities will be offered in Clay County beginning in January.

Ivy Tech Community College -- Wabash Valley -- will offer classes in Clay County beginning Jan. 11.

The spring 2010 schedule has been expanded to include a variety of classes that will be offered at the LEAAP Center or North Clay Middle School. The following classes will be available:

* Communications 101 (Fundamentals of Public Speaking), (Tuesday, 6-8:45 p.m.),

* English 111 (English composition), (Tuesday, 6-8:45 p.m.),

* Math 015 (Mathematics), (Tuesday, Thursday, 6-8:45 p.m.),

* Math 111 (Intermediat Algebra), (Thursday, 6-8:45 p.m.),

* Psychology 101, (Monday, 6-8:45 p.m.,), and

* Survey of American History II 102 (Thursday, 6-8:45 p.m.).

The admission assessment (E-COMPASS) may be taken at the LEAAP Center by calling 446-2536 Ext. 1910 for an appointment.

Senior scholars will receive free tuition.

Indiana residents 60-older interested in taking classes will be responsible for cost of books, supplies, technology fees or lab fees, if applicable.

Senior scholars may take a course delivered by distance education as well.
