Society sets up meeting

Thursday, January 7, 2010

TERRE HAUTE -- The Wabash Valley Genealogy Society will host a public program from 6:30-8:30 p.m., Monday, at the Vigo County Public Library main branch.

Deborah Gentit will be the guest speaker and will present "They Were Working on the Railroad."

The presentation will provide information on what ancestors actually did for a living while they were employed by the railroad, a brief history of the railroads operating in the Wabash Valley, research ideas and ways for those in attendance to trace employment and other railroad records.

Gentit is a local historian, writer, speaker, genealogist, researcher, historical costumer and living history presenter (most widely known for her impression of Mary Todd Lincoln).

The program is free and open to the public.
