Betty Boyce Castner, 73, Brazil, passed away at her residence Jan. 8, 2010, following a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease.

She was born in Brazil, Nov. 30, 1936, to Roy and Emma (Rader) Boyce and resided in the same residence throughout her entire life.

Betty graduated from Brazil High School with the class of 1956. She married Wayne Castner on June 8, 1963. Later, she graduated from Indiana State University with a Bachelors Degree in 1967 and a Masters Degree in 1969 in Art Education.

Betty taught art at Plainfield High School for several years and later decided to be a full-time wife and mother. She had many passions in life, including spending time with her family and many pets, drawing, painting, traveling and swimming. She had great compassion for animals and could never turn a stray away. She will be deeply missed by her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Kenneth Boyce.

Survivors include her husband Wayne, daughter Dawn Castner-Rector and husband David, Brazil, and sister Lucille Bennett, Indianapolis.

At her request, cremation has been scheduled. Private services may take place at a later date.
