Lois Ellen Myers, 86, Terre Haute, died at 5:23 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010, at Terre Haute Regional Hospital.

She was born June 4, 1923, in Crawfordsville, as the daughter of Michael and Grace Tague DeVoto. Following graduation from Crawfordsville High School, she graduated from the Indiana University School of Business. She was employed at the Plastene Corp. as personnel manager and then at the Ladoga Federal Savings and Loan as Assistant Manager.

After raising two sons, she worked for the Brazil Public Library until her retirement. She was a Past Worthy Matron for the Eastern Star in Ladoga, and she enjoyed participating in the Shakespeare Club, Bridge Club and Reading Club while she lived in Brazil.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Arthur and Donald DeVoto, sister Doris Bishop, and grandson Christopher David Myers.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years Robert E. Myers, sons Mark (Karla) Myers, Versailles, Ky., and Matt (Mary Jo) Myers, Brazil, eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Moore Funeral Home was chosen to provide cremation services. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 13, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Clay County Community Theater or the Clay County Humane Society.
