Kappa Alpha Theta

The Kappa Alpha Theta alumnae Chapter in Bloomington will be sponsoring the 49th annual Antique Show and sale on Saturday, Feb. 21 and Sunday, Feb. 22.

The show will feature dozens of dealers from across the Midwest, selling collectables and wares, as varied as silver, china, toys, clothing, jewelry and prints.

All proceeds from the show benefit local and national charities, with a particular emphasis on helping women and girls.

Washington Twp. Circle Club

The Washington Township Circle Club met on Dec. 10, at 11:45 a.m., for our Christmas dinner, at the home of Lucy Spelbring.

Rosalind gave the table prayer. We all enjoyed a delicious dinner and fellowship.

Doris called the meeting to order at 1 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance and the Homemaker's Creed were recited in unison.

Brenda gave devotions "The real first night of Christmas."

Roll call was answered by eight members and one guest, telling your favorite treat you made for Christmas.

The secretary and treasurer's report were given and approved.

Collection was taken.

Judy England gave the Health and Safety lesson "Trouble with Anitbodics."

Our bake sale is Feb. 19-20, at the Armory. March 19 is Ag. Day at the fairgrounds.

Linda Schiele gave the lesson "50 stress busting ideas for caregivers."

We closed with singing the Homemakers Prayer.

Others present were Martha McKenzie, Wilma Rich and Kristy Fry.

We enjoyed a gift and cookie exchange.

Our next meeting wil be at Linda Schiele home with Brenda as hostess on Jan. 14, at 1 p.m. Martha will give the lesson "Mindless Eating."

Tri- County Community Club

The Clay County Community Club met at Bob and Angie's in Clay City, on Dec. 16, 2009.

A home style luncheon was served with fried chicken and roast beef with all the trimmings. Our afternoon business meeting was opened with president Rhonda Tincher, repeating the club creed.

Wilma Holsapple gave the blessing and we repeated the Pledge of Allegiance. The surprise package was won by Alma Haltom.

Devotions were read by Rhonda, "Legend of the Christmas Candle." Roll call was answered by 16 members and three guest, telling their first initial of their first name and gving a Christmas item.

Our three guests were Andrea Muns, Rosie Brown and past member Susie Faulkner.

The secretary's report was read by Diana Nees and approved. The treasurer's report was read by Roberta Nees and approved. The card report was read by Lucy Strauch, with six cards being sent for the month. The hospital report was read by Juanita Neese and approved.

New business included Gerry Cundiff helping to proofread our new club books. They were prepared by Donna Rubeck, great job.

We had a Christmas gift exchange. We all had secret sisters and our guests also received a gift.

Our club closed our meeting with all repeating the Lord's Prayer.

The social hour was spent playing bingo with Andrea Muns winning coverall.

We had four members who attended every meeting for the year, Gerry Cundiff, Evelyn Rubeck, Rhonda Tincher and Diana Nees. Were so proud of you.
