Two-vehicle accident stalls traffic

Thursday, January 14, 2010

A major artery into the City of Brazil became clogged Thursday morning after a two-vehicle accident.

The accident took place shortly before 7 a.m., near the Marathon Food Center (Quick Pick South) by County Road 800 N., on State Road 59.

According to Clay County Dep. Brad Hardey, a passenger vehicle was attempting a turn into the service station. An approaching truck didn't see the signal and collided with the vehicle.

Hardey said two children were in the truck and suffered minor injuries. Both were treated and released from the scene.

The names of the drivers of both vehicles have not been released.

Other agencies responding to the accident included Clay County Search and Rescue, TransCare and the Posey Township Volunteer Fire Department.
