On Jan. 12, Timothy A. Cheatham, 44, was arrested by members of the CCSD, Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and the Putnam County Sheriff's Department without incident at his residence on initial charges of one class A Dealing Methamphetamine and booked into the Clay County Justice Center.
During the course of the initial investigation, officials were able to make controlled buys of methamphetamine and perform several hundred hours of surveillance of Cheatham's alleged drug activity. This led to two search warrants being issued for Cheatham's Clay County residence and another in Putnam County.
As a result of the warrants being served, an undisclosed amount of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and more than $70,000 in cash was located.
Cheatham has been formally charge with two counts each of class A felony Dealing Methamphetamine and class C felony Possession of Methamphetamine, along with one count of class D felony Maintaining a Common Nuisance.
Clay County Prosecutor B. Lee Reberger is expected to file formal charges later today in court on Timothy Cheatham.
Cheatham is being currently held at the Clay County Justice Center on a $100,000 cash bond with no 10 percent.
Officials confirm the investigation continues and more arrests are expected in the case.
