VIGO COUNTY -- Although there is no new information at this time, Indiana State Police officials confirm the investigation continues into the recent disappearance of a Brazil resident.

Charles Raymond Chumley Jr., 30, was reported missing Tuesday, Dec. 10, by his wife Jennifer Chumley.

On Dec. 8, around 11:45 p.m., Chumley told authorities her husband left her in a vehicle in the driveway of a family member's home located at 11300 East Davis Avenue in the Seelyville area and walked into a nearby wooded area. She said her husband told her that he would return in 15 minutes.

However, he never returned and officials confirmed he has not contacted any family members since.

Chumley is described as being 5-feet-11-inches and 185 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair.

He was last seen wearing brown coveralls and a blue jacket.

A few days after the missing person report was filed, officials told The Brazil Times a helicopter search of the area was unsuccessful in locating any trace of Chumley.

Although Chumley's case information has been entered into the Indiana Data and Communications System (IDACS) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation's National Crime Information Center (NCIC), officials confirmed ISP Detectives Sam Stearley and Chris Carter are interviewing people close to Chumley to help develop a reason why he might have disappeared.

Chumley's family members have been looking for him since his disappearance and hope publicity will encourage the public to provide information helpful to the case.

Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the Indiana State Police at 812-299-1151 or 1-800-742-0717.
