TERRE HAUTE -- United Way Campaign Co-Chairs Gary Morris and Marla Flowers, along with Board President Rick Burger and Executive Director Troy Fears, will be on the roof of Baesler's Market again this year for "United Day for United Way" Friday, Jan. 22.

They will be on the roof for 24 hours in an effort to raise $24,000.

Last year, with the support of local media, the United Way of the Wabash Valley was able to make a big push toward attaining its campaign goal with "United Day for United Way."

All of the local radio, television stations, outdoor media and print media joined together to weather the elements and make the campaign a success.

"United Day for United Way" is the final push of United Way of the Wabash Valley's fundraising campaign and will start at 6 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 21.

The event will conclude at 6 p.m., Friday, Jan. 22.

In addition, there are several other donation locations for Wabash Valley residents throughout the valley.

The United Way will conduct a one-day media blitz asking people in the Wabash Valley to contribute at one of the various locations, including Angell's Food Center (Sullivan), Baesler's, Clark County Title (Marshall, Ill.), Fastenal Company, Fazoli's, Fifth Third Bank, First Financial Bank, Harrison College, Indiana State University, ISU Federal Credit Union, Ivy Tech Community College, JC Penny, Macy's, Old National Bank, Regions Bank, Riddell National Bank, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, Terre Haute Savings Bank, Walmart (Brazil), Walmart (Clinton), Walmart (Terre Haute east), Walmart (Terre Haute south), Walgreens (all three Terre Haute locations), and the Brazil Walgreens.

A new component of "United Day for United Way" this year is Dine United. A portion of sales from meals on Jan. 22, will be donated from A Bit of Britain Tea Room, Beef O'Brady's, Bob Evans, Buffalo Wild Wings, Carosi's Italian Restaurant, Clabber Girl Bake Shop, Gerhardt's Bierstube Restaurant, Giovanni's Pizzeria, Idle Creek Dawg Leg Restaurant, Navarros, Patrick's Restaurant, Pizza Hut (all four Terre Haute locations), Rick's Smokehouse and Grill, Roly Poly, T.G.I. Friday's, Saratoga Restaurant, Spaghetti and Sub House and all three Terre Haute Starbuck's locations.

In addition, several local "celebrities" will pump gas and wash car windows at Baesler's for the event. Gas will be discounted on the day of the event and all donations will go to the United Way.

All customers who purchase gasoline from 6 a.m.-6 p.m., on United Day will receive 12 cents off each gallon.
