TERRE HAUTE -- The Pound for Pound Challenge is an initiative of the Biggest Loser, Eat Better America, General Mills, Subway and 24 Hour Fitness to encourage Americans to "Lose Nationally, Feed Locally."
For every pound of weight loss pledged to Terre Haute Catholic Charities Food Bank, the Pound for Pound Challenge will contribute 14 cents to the local food bank.
To participate, log on to www.pfpchallenge.com and follow the simple steps to pledge. Make sure to designate Terre Haute Catholic Charities to receive a pledge.
The website contains tips, exercise videos, recipes and more to help with weight loss.
Terre Haute Catholic Charities Food Bank serves Clay, Greene, Knox, Parke, Sullivan, Vermillion and Vigo counties. Nearly 35 percent of the residents in these seven counties lack consistent access to adequate amounts of nutritious foods. Every 10 pounds of weight loss pledged, Pound for Pound Challenge will provide approximately eight pounds of food to help feed less fortunate friends and neighbors.
