ELNORA -- Hitting your free throws is key in a close game and the Clay City Eels did just that on Monday night, knocking down 15-of-17 in the fourth quarter to win 48-40 over North Daviess.

The Clay City girls got 20 points from Brielle Drelick, who hit 12-of-18 from the line by herself and the Eels hit 21-of-28 as a team in the game.

The teams went into the fourth quarter knotted up before Clay City outscored the Cougars 17-9 in the final quarter to pick up the victory.

Carmela Roeschlein added nine points, Abby Reed had seven and Kelly McCullough posted six for the Eels.

Clay City (8-8 overall) hosts Sullivan on Thursday night.
