Russell A. "Rusty" Taylor, 35, Center Point, died Jan. 17, 2010, at 2:45 a.m., following an automobile accident.
He was born Feb. 13, 1974, in Brazil, the son of Norman Taylor, Sr. and Sarah Jane Pinkerton Taylor. He graduated from Clay City High School. He began working in the lumber business at R. Booe & Sons Hardwood in Clay City, and currently had his own business, TNT Timber, and worked as a tree cutter.
He enjoyed spending time with friends and family and was proud of the Dale Earnhardt Sr. Collection.
He was preceded in death by his father Norman "Skeet" Taylor Sr. in 2007, and his daughter Sarah Cynthia Taylor in 2000.
Survivors include his daughter Dena Jo Taylor, 7, Paxton, Ind., his mother Sarah "Janie" Taylor, Saline City, three brothers Norman "Gene" Taylor Jr., Saline City, Kevin Wayne Taylor (Corinne), Indianapolis, Kenneth Dean Taylor and fiancÚ Amber Eads, Princeton, Ind., several nieces and nephews and other extended family.
There will be a private family service at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home with Rev. Lyman Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. His brothers Gene, Kevin and Kenny Taylor and nephew Jake Taylor will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Shawn Pinkerton, Ted Pinkerton, Mark Ingram, J.D. Froderman and "Peety" Lockwood. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8 p.m., and again Friday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
