In addition, the band has begun preparations for homecoming festivities, which will take place Friday.
Alumni Night was originally scheduled for Friday, Jan. 8, when the NHS boys' and girls' varsity basketball squads were set to face Owen Valley at home.
The intention was to have band alumni perform with current pep band members at the game.
Weather forced a postponement of the game, which was rescheduled to Saturday, Jan. 23.
The girls' game will begin at 6 p.m., followed by the boys' game.
"I think everybody's excited," NHS band director Bob Medworth said. "There have been other adults from year's past that will be able to make this one."
This weekend will be quite busy for the band program.
The program has scheduled a chili supper prior to the Knights' Winter Homecoming festivities Friday.
Serving times will take place from 5:30-7 p.m., in the high school cafeteria. The meal will include a bowl of chili, cornbread or crackers, soup toppings, hot dog tea or water. Cost is $5 for the meal or $3.75 for chili and drink only.
All proceeds from the event will go to benefit the NHS Band Boosters.
"We've noticed other schools doing it," Medworth said of the additional event.
The varsity basketball squads will take on South Vermillion Friday, with the girls' game starting at 6 p.m.
Medworth said approximately 170 students from the program's Winter Guard Clinic, which took place earlier this month, will also perform at halftime of the boys' game Friday.
Medworth added the NHS Winter Guard has already started making preparations for the Northview Winter Guard Contest, scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 27.
He said the school has hosted a winter guard contest since 1986 and expects 52 schools at this year's competition.
The contest will take place one week before the beginning of the Indiana High School Color Guard Association (IHSCGA) State Preliminary contests begin.
