To the Editor:
I just wanted to say what a great job our North Clay cheerleaders did this year.
I am sending this letter to point out what I have noticed and to see how many others noticed.
I have only seen the "cheer coach" at two of these girls' games. Why would our school let that happen? Why would someone take this position if they didn't want to do it?
I am just sad that these girls worked so hard and were so committed, but didn't get that same commitment back. Didn't these girls deserve the respect of their coach?
I have watched all year, the football players with their coach, the volleyball team with their coach, the basketball with their coach (all of which, I might add, did fantastic). But then you look at the cheerleaders and all I ever saw supporting them were the parents.
Bless you parents. Those girls work just as hard as anyone else and need the support of the coach.
I just wanted to make mention of this and hope our school will find someone who actually wants to coach our cheerleaders. They deserve it.
