At approximately 8:30 p.m., emergency crews responded to a vehicle accident on U.S. 40.
Upon arrival, officials discovered a Ford Explorer lying on its side in the median just in front of Northview High School.
Clay County Sheriff's Deputy James Switzer said it was believed the driver of the vehicle was going east and started to slow down. The vehicle slid into the median, forcing it to flip.
The three passengers in the vehicle were later transported to St. Vincent Clay Hospital as a precaution, Switzer said.
The names of the passengers were not released.
Switzer told The Brazil Times the accident was one of several the department dealt with Monday.
"It's been steady," Switzer said, adding several of the accidents were slide-offs that took place on Interstate-70. "It started a little before 5 (p.m.)."
Also responding to the scene were Clay County Search and Rescue, the Brazil City Police Department, and the Posey Township Volunteer Fire Department.
