He was born Dec. 9, 1918, in Brazil, the son of Clem Raymond and Anna Margaret (Baumunk) Rissler.
Rev. Rissler graduated from Reelsville High School and the Louisville Baptist Theological Seminary and was a minister for 71 years with the American Baptist Church, pastoring in several Indiana communities.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Rev. Rissler married Hester Irene Blair Sept. 1, 1939, and she survives.
They had celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this past September.
Also surviving is daughter Patricia Rissler Hallett and husband William, Canadiagua, N.Y., sons James Rissler, Kissimmee, Fla., and Donald Rissler and wife Laila, Brazil, grandchildren Sheri Kershner, Michael Hallett, Brian, Kimberly, Mark and Amy Rissler, several great-grandchildren, sister Thelma Jean Sutherlin Olson, Bainbridge, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m., Friday, Feb. 12, 2010, at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle, with burial to follow at the Forest Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
