UPDATE: Clay City High School Principal Jeff Bell told The Brazil Times tonight's game featuring Shakamak and Union in the first round of the Class A Clay City Sectional has been tentatively postponed to 6 p.m., Wednesday.
Bell added no other scheduling changes in the sectional have been made at this time.
The Indiana High School Athletic Association girls' basketball tournament is scheduled to begin today.
But weather could create havoc for teams and their schedules.
Action in the Class A Clay City Sectional is scheduled for this evening as Shakamak will take on Union. Game time is 6 p.m.
Clay City High School Principal Jeff Bell said an announcement will come later today as to whether the game will be played.
Earlier Tuesday morning, the Clay Community School Corporation announced school was canceled.
Clay City isn't scheduled to play in the sectional until Friday when the Eels face North Central (Farmersburg), at 6 p.m.
In addition, the Class 4A Terre Haute South Sectional is set to begin today with the Terre Haute North Patriots facing the Terre Haute South Braces at 6 p.m., followed by the Mooresville Pioneers taking on the Martinsville Artesians.
The winner of the first game today is scheduled to face Northview Friday in the sectional semifinal, set for 6 p.m.
Championships in both sectional games are scheduled for 7 p.m., Saturday.
