Stockton will speak at 7 p.m., Monday, Feb. 15, at the Clay County Senior Center, 120 S. Franklin St., Brazil. The event is being sponsored by the Clay County Republican Club and the public is invited.
Stockton is one of three candidates who have announced intentions to run for Indiana's 8th District Congressional seat, currently held by Brad Ellsworth (D-Evansville).
Stockton has lived in Bainbridge for 40 years. He is a graduate of Wabash College in Crawfordsville, with a degree in Biology and Chemistry.
He has worked in sales and manufacturing and currently works in the automotive industry.
Brazil City Council members Sam Glover and Pat Heffner will also speak at the meeting, giving updates on issues and concerns in city government.
The upcoming meeting is part of an ongoing series by the Republican Club. The intention is to provide an opportunity for local citizens to hear from elected officials and candidates.
"This is your chance to learn more about what is going on with your government and to have a chance to speak with candidates and elected officials," Republican Club President Sharon Koehler said. "We hope people will take advantage and turn out and ask questions."
Last month, another 8th District Congressional candidate, Dr. Larry Bucshon, spoke with the group.
The third candidate, Kristi Risk, will be the featured speaker at the club's March 15 meeting.
