People considering starting their own business are urged to attend "Launching Your Own Business," from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, March 11, at the Brazil Public Library, 204 N. Walnut St., Brazil.

The Indiana Small Business Development Center (ISBDC) is sponsoring the workshop.

The instructor will be Jim Roudebush, who has worked with rural entrepreneurs for the past five years and is a small business owner in Indiana for more than 19 years.

Roudebush has spent the last five years in training and consulting with entrepreneurs throughout the state. He has an MBA in marketing and finance.

Roudebush will help participants identify their personal objectives, skills and resources, understand entrepreneurial characteristics, describe business ideas and target groups, and evaluate business feasibility.

Other topics include developing a business plan and ways to find funding resources.

"We are excited about bringing this proven workshop to the community of Brazil and those who live in Clay County," Roudebush said.

Early registration is $15 per person if received seven days prior to the seminar. All registrations received after the deadline or at the door will be $25 per person.

For information about the program or to register, contact the Hoosier Heartland RC&D Council office at 1-317-290-3250 or log on to www.ruralnet.org to access a registration form.

If inclement weather forces a cancellation of the seminar, call 1-317-850-3012 for more information.
