Talbot's putback collars Bulldogs

Monday, February 15, 2010

Times Staff Report

The high school boys' basketball seasons had gone in much different directions for Northview and Monrovia since the Knights scored their first win of the season on Dec. 26 against the Bulldogs.

Monrovia had rallied to win 10-of-11 games heading into Saturday's contest, while the Knights had dropped seven-of-nine games.

That all changed as Chance Talbot scored on a putback basket in the final seconds as Northview picked up a 44-43 victory over the Bulldogs.

The Knights were without leading scorer, Trent Lancaster, for a second straight game due to illness, but got 12 points apiece from Jonathan Bradshaw and Dillon Reynolds. Talbot added 11 points and six rebounds while Bradshaw led the squad with 11 boards.

The Knights (4-12 overall) host Greencastle this evening with a 6 p.m. JV start.
