Washington Twp. Circle Club

Washington Twp. Circle Club met Jan. 14, at Linda Schiele home, with Brenda as hostess.

Doris Romas opened the meeting at 1 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance and Club Creed were repeated in unison.

Devotions were by Linda Schiele "About the Bible" and a prayer.

Roll call was answered by five members, naming their favorite movie.

Brenda led us in singing "I'm sitting on top of the world."

The secretary and treasurers reports were given and approved.

Doris gave the Health and Safety report, on "Are you taking your medication correctly?"

Linda's citizenship lesson was "On the Banks of the Wabash far away."

Officiers for 2010 are Linda Schiele, President; Judy England, Vice President; Rosalind Schopmeyer, Secretary and Reporter; Doris Romas, Treasurer; Brenda Guthensburger, Song Leader.

The Home Show is Friday, Feb. 19, 5-9 p.m., and Saturday, Feb. 20, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., at the Brazil Armory.

The Homemakers workshop and Cultural Arts is April 20, at 6:30 p.m., at the Fairgrounds.

We completed program planning for next year.

Doris gave the lesson "Life Made Simple."

Wilma Rich and Rosalind Schopmeyer were also present.

The next meeting will be Feb. 11, at 1 p.m., at the home of Rosalind Schopmeyer. Bring a red gift for exchange. Doris will give the lesson "Emergency Funds and Financial Lives."

We closed with the singing of the Homemakers Prayer. Doris won the door prize. Refreshments were served and social time enjoyed.

Van Buren Homemakers

The Van Buren Homemakers met on Jan. 21, at Myrna Schrader's home. Lunch was served to five members. Evelyn Nevins returned thanks.

The meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance and the Club Creed.

Dorothy Plunkett gave devotions. Roll call was answered, naming your favorite movie, by Evelyn, Dorothy, Marcie Davis, Leah Rae McMichael and Myrna.

The song of the month was sung. The secretary and treasurer's gave their reports, both being approved.

Leah Rae gave a Health and Safety report on "Vaccination won't hurt much." No Citizenship report this month.

The leader lesson and special interest sheets were marked and turned in to Marcie, they were due at the Extension office by Feb. 5.

The Home Show and Bake Sale are Feb. 19-20. The county fair is July 16-23. Evelyn said to bring pop tabs and pill bottles to the next meeting.

A thank you card was received for the cookies for 4-H Achievement Night.

No leader meeting was given.

The next meeting will be Feb. 18 at Evelyn's home at noon.

The meeting was closed with the Club Prayer.
