Letter to the Editor

Thanks for retrieving my dog

Sunday, February 21, 2010

To the Editor:

This is a very belated, but nevertheless, sincere thank to you Mr. Roloff of Staunton.

Over the Christmas holidays, I was visiting my grandmother, Alyce Dressler. My dog, Chai, decided to undertake an adventure. Being a Chicago apartment dog, this rural area was all new and strange and she became lost.

Mr. Roloff found my dog, took her home, fed her, and then located me. By this time, I had left to return home. Mr. Roloff insisted he take Chai to my grandmother's house, because he did not want her to have to venture out on the slick roads.

I just wanted to take a moment to thank him so much for the return of my dog, who is so happy to be home. He has given me the best of all the presents I received this year. His "above and beyond" kindness will not be forgotten by me and my family.

Thank you very much,

Marlene Halper,

Chicago
