ROCKVILLE -- The 47th annual Parke County Maple Syrup Fair will take place Feb. 27-28, and March 6-7.
Maple Fair Headquarters is located one mile north of Rockville, on United States 41, at the county's 4-H Fairgrounds.
Pancakes with whole hog sausage and golden maple syrup are served daily from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Meal prices are $6 for adults and $2 for children 6-under.
Maple Syrup producers at Smiley Sugar Camp, Sweetwater Farm, Meri-Arch Farms and Williams and Teague Sugar Camp are inviting all to the event.
From primitive camps to the state-of-the-art equipment, each camp gathers and boils 60 gallons of sugar water to make 1 gallon of maple syrup. All the vendors will explain the process as well.
Maps and information are available at the headquarters that will lead those attending to the camps and the covered bridges of Parke County.
In the 4-H Building will be the Butcher Shop, offering smoked ham, bacon, sausage as well as a variety of cheeses available.
Parke County Collectibles and other vendors are open daily.
The commercial building behind the 4-H Building will offer shopping delights as well.
The Parke County Players will also offer its annual Maple Fair production, Neil Simon's "The Sunshine Boys." The event will be presented Feb. 26-27, and March 5-6, at 7 p.m., with doors opening at 6 p.m. Tickets are $7 per person and are available at the Maple Fair Headquarters or the Ritz Theatre Box Office.
