She was born April 6, 1913, in Staunton, the daughter of Carrie and Charles Reynolds.
She was a graduate of Staunton High School and Indiana State Teachers College and taught at Staunton School.
She married Rolland Ripple in 1939.
They made their home in Fort Wayne until retirement, when they moved to Alameda to be closer to their daughters.
Genevieve was a loving mother, wife and grandmother. She enjoyed traveling, and family, and made frequent trips back to Staunton to be with family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Rolland in 1994, their daughter Carolyn Bernhard, California, and brother Albert Reynolds, Greencastle.
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law Wanda Ingmire and Greg Hamm, Alameda, Calif., grandchildren Mary Sarah Bernhard, Anchorage, Alaska, Ben Bernhard, Boston, and Chris Hamm, Alameda, Calif, two great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.
Per her request, graveside services will be led by Max Ripple, her nephew, in Brazil, at a later date.
