To the Editor:

(Wednesday) as the body of Cpl. Gregory Stultz was escorted home on United States 40, I pulled to the side of the road, stood outside my car with my hand over my heart and said a private "thank you" to a young man I will never know.

To his family, I want to say I know what you are feeling as another war, long ago, took someone I cared about deeply and (Wednesday), I felt again the loss of a fallen hero.

I cannot ease your pain nor erase your sorrow. But know that I appreciate what Greg has given for me. I could not let this opportunity to express my thanks go by the wayside.

I cannot find the right words to express how sorry I am so all I can say is thank you.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.
