Both the Clay City High School Winter Guard and North Clay Middle School Winter Guard competed in the Northview Winter Guard Invitational Saturday, as part of the Indiana High School Color Guard Association.
In Cadet Class, North Clay came away with a Gold Divisional Rating. In Class B, Clay City finished with a Silver Rating.
North Clay will next perform Saturday, March 13, in the IHSCGA Divisional Finals, at Center Grove High School.
North Clay is tentatively scheduled to perform at 11:49 a.m., and will compete against Taylor, Hamilton Southeastern, Warren Central, Maconaquah, Carmel, Martinsville, Belzer (Miss.), Fairfield, Avon, Greenfield-Central, Scottsburg, Zionsville, and North Putnam.
Clay City will next compete in the IHSCGA Divisional Finals, Saturday, March 13, at Franklin Central High School.
Clay City will again compete in Class B and is tentatively scheduled to perform at 11:42 a.m. They will compete against Centerville, New Castle, Owen Valley, Columbus North, Goshen, and Randolph Southern.
Meanwhile, competing in the World Guard International Class, the Northview Color Guard competed in the Dayton Power Regional Saturday and Sunday, placing eighth overall in the Scholastic World Class.
Northview came away with a score of 72.70.
Avon won the division with a score of 86.30, while Carmel was second at 85.40, followed by Warren Central (82.30), Miamisburg (Miamisburg, Ohio, 79.30), Center Grove (78.90), Centerville (Centerville, Ohio, 77.30), and Marian Catholic (Chicago Heights, Ill., 76.90).
Northmont (Clayton, Ohio) placed ninth in the division with a score of 71.20.
Northview will next compete in the Indianapolis Color Guard Power Regional March 13-14.
