Recognizing years of contributions, members of the Crisis Pregnancy Center honored local pharmacist Lynn Hostetler Wednesday with its first Outstanding Service award.

"He's very generous," CPC Nurse Manager Dixie Swan said, "for his contributions for people in the community who need this kind of help."

CPC Brazil branch representative Ann Coker said the organization plans on giving out two awards this year.

"Lynn has served us with gifts in kind," Coker said, referring to Hostetler giving the center pre-natal vitamins.

In addition, Coker said Hostetler now provides antibiotics -- under doctor orders -- for various diseases.

"He is a special guy," Swan said.

Hostetler, who at one time served on the CPC Board, admitted he was "surprised," to receive the "unexpected" award.

"The people involved with (CPC) do a lot of great work," he said. "They make a difference."

The center has three locations, two of which are in Terre Haute -- off Poplar and 6th streets. The Brazil branch is located on Meridian Street.
