Post offices throughout Indiana will be hosting Passport Fairs Saturday, March 27, to provide passport information to United States citizens and to accept passport applications.
The postal service is joining the Department of State in celebrating "Passport Day in the USA," a national passport acceptance and outreach event.
The Brazil Post Office, 227 W. National Ave., Brazil, will conduct the event from 9 a.m.-noon.
U.S. citizens must present a valid passport book when entering or re-entering the United States by air. U.S. citizens entering the United States from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Bermuda at land borders and sea ports of entry must present a passport book, passport card or other travel documents approved by the U.S. government.
"We are happy to leverage the convenience of the Postal Service and partner with the Department of State to help our customers apply for passports," Communications Programs Specialist for the Greater Indiana District Kim Yates said.
U.S. citizens may also obtain passport information by phone by calling the National Passport Information Center at 1-877-487-2778.
