TERRE HAUTE -- The Wabash Valley Genealogy Society will present "German-American Religious Groups in Early Terre Haute," from 6:30-8:30 p.m., Monday, at the Vigo County Public Library.
The guest speaker will be Ronald Dunbar, who will take a look at German-American immigrants in Terre Haute and the religious communities that they founded, a number of which still exist today.
The focus will be on the German-American Catholic, Jewish, Lutheran and German Reformed communities.
The presentation will include historical background on what led to their immigration, the early congregations, their histories and the impact of these groups on Terre Haute.
The program is free and open to the public.
