Ronald "Bud" Sartor Hamilton, 55, Brazil, formerly of Terre Haute, passed over Thursday, March 4, 2010, at 2:32 p.m., at his home after a long brave battle with melanoma cancer.

He was born Aug. 1, 1954, in Terre Haute. He is the son of the late Donald "Donnie" B. Hamilton and Shirley Hamilton, Terre Haute.

He graduated from North High School in 1972.

He was employed as an aviation mechanic for the Indianapolis 500 Motor Speedway for the last 10 years.

He also worked for Express One in Brussels, Belgium, Kitty Hawk, Zantop Transcon-tinental Brett Air as a supervisor in Terre Haute.

He is survived by his wife Marlene Runyan Hamilton, his mother Shirley Richey Hamilton, sisters Donna Hamilton and Shirley Jean Hamilton, and friend Jim Little, step-children Scott Woody, Amy Schriver and spouse John, James Woody and friend Jamie Smith, grandchildren Olivia Woody, John and Jacob Schriver and Travis Woody, nieces Madalyn "Maddie" Smith and Mikayla Corenflos, nephews Zachary and Ayden Little, several aunts, uncles and cousins.

At Ron's request, cremation was chosen.

There will be a celebration in remembrance of his life at the Kriestenstein American Legion Post 104, Fort Harrison, Terre Haute, at noon, Saturday, March 13, 2010, followed by lunch for all his friends and relatives from 1-3:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.

Mattox-Wood Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.
