She was born May 3, 1956, in Indianapolis, to Eugene and Maxine (Johnson) Kizzee. She attended Tech High School.
She had pursued many different career choices throughout her life. Most recently, she had worked for the Shell Gas Station, Brazil, and with the mentally and physically challenged at Normal Life, Terre Haute. She married Leroy Simmons Oct. 3, 1997.
She enjoyed volunteering at the Special Needs Bible Camp. Judy was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, Brazil. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening and working with crafts.
She was preceded in death by her father Eugene Kizzee.
Survivors include her husband Leroy Simmons, Clinton, daughters Christina Harris York (Jason), Greenfield, and Eugenia Harris Dixon, Clinton, Annette Simmons Walden (Jeff), Rosedale, Cassie Simmons Hyde (Mitch), Greencastle, and Natasha Simmons, Tennessee, 15 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, best friend Carol Slick, Tennessee, mother Maxine Kizzee, two sisters Diana Kizzee Dodrill (Terry) and Mildred Kizzee Henry (Ray), brother David Fitzgerald, all of Indianapolis, as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Services will be at French Funeral Home, Brazil, Monday, March 15, 2010, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, Terre Haute. Visitation will be at the funeral home Sunday, from 4-8 p.m.
