Color guards, drumlines compete this weekend

It's shaping up to be a busy weekend for county color guards and drumlines.

The North Clay Middle School Cadet Corps will perform in the Indiana High School Color Guard Association Divisional Finals at Center Grove High School Saturday. The group is expected to perform at 11:49 a.m.

Other competition in Cadet Class include Taylor, Hamilton Southeastern, Warren Central, Maconaquah, Carmel, Martinsville, Belzer Middle School, Fairfield, Avon, Greenfield-Central Middle School, Scottsburg, Zionsville, and North Putnam.

Awards for Cadet Class are scheduled for 12:59 p.m.

The Clay City Winter Guard will also compete Saturday, in the IHSCGA Divisional Finals at Franklin Central High School.

Competing in Class B, Clay City will perform at 11:42 a.m. Other schools in Class B include Centerville, New Castle, Owen Valley, Columbus North, Goshen and Randolph Southern.

Class B awards are scheduled to take place at 1:09 p.m.

The Northview Winter Guard competes in Winter Guard International, and will take part in the Indianapolis Power Regional Saturday and Sunday.

Competing in Scholastic World Class, Northview is scheduled to perform at 5:40 p.m., Saturday.

Other schools in Scholastic World Class include Carmel, Warren Central, Center Grove, Centerville, Marian Catholic, Lawrence Central, Northmont and Avon.

The Northview Indoor Drumline will also compete this Saturday, as it will take part in the Indiana Percussion Association, Inc., State Preliminaries at Avon High School.

Competing in PSO Class, Northview is scheduled to perform at 6:05 p.m. Other schools in the class include Greenfield-Central, East Central "Marching," Columbus East, Plainfield, Decatur Central, Pike, Norwell, Ben Davis and DeKalb.
