Ida (Jones) Hochstetler, 87, formerly of Clay City, passed away March 12, 2010, at Cloverleaf Health Care, Knightsville, following a lengthy illness.
She was born Aug. 10, 1922, in Clay County, to Oliver and Elizabeth (Devins) Jones.
She married Carl Hochstetler, who preceded her in death Feb. 18, 1991. Together, they farmed in the Clay County area. Ida enjoyed flower gardening and bird watching.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Carl, sisters Peggy Bledsoe, Myrtle Smith, Goldie Corey and Ruth Strain, and brothers Paul Jones, Irvin Jones and Otis Jones.
She is survived by her nephews Robert "Bob" Jones and friend Florence Courter, and Jerry Dean Jones and wife Terri, both of Brazil, nieces Pat Stewart and friend Roger Lininger, great-niece Tonya Cooper and husband Willard, Clay City, as well as several extended family members.
Services will be at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, Thursday, March 18, 2010, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Marvin Cheek officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, Thursday, March 18, 2010, from 10-11 a.m.
