Northview honors winter award recipients at banquet

Northview High School held its annual winter sports program this week with athletes honored for their contributions to their respective teams as well as for their conference and postseason accomplishments.

Six Northview athletes earned all-conference honors during the winter sports season as Trent Lancaster and Lauren Webster were both named All-Western Indiana Conference in basketball. The wrestling team had four competitors that scored All-WIC honors after competing in the conference tournament. Caleb Nicosin, Luke Pingleton, Brandon Pleake and Aaron See all were all recognized for their accomplishments.

Pingleton was a WIC Champion and qualified for the semi-state this season and Beau Judd was a sectional champion for the Knights.

One-sport senior athletes that were honored, included Emily Phillips, Kelsey Searing, Alina Sebbbesse, Kaylee Edington, Chloe Burdette and Pingleton. Two-sport senior athletes that were honored included Carlee Bell, Jonathan Bradshaw, Jordan Allen and Brady Silvers.

Four-year awards went to Edington and Burdette, who are each Northview cheerleaders, Bradshaw and Allen earned four-year awards for the boys' basketball team and Phillips, Bell and Searing earned the award for the girls' team. Pingleton and Silvers each were awarded from the wrestling team.

The Noble Knight Award is presented to one athlete in each sport throughout the school year. This award signifies the athlete's contribution to Northview athletics in terms of service, dedication, commitment, and leadership.

Winners of the Noble Knight Award this year were Edington in cheerleading, Bradshaw in boys' basketball, Jessica LaTourette in girls' basketball and Silvers in wrestling.
