Nellie Marie Wools, 90, Staunton, died at 10:07 p.m., Thursday, March 25, 2010, at Cloverleaf Healthcare, Knightsville.
She was born Sept. 9, 1919, in Posey Twp., Clay County, Ind., as the daughter of Pearl Timbrook and Rella Ulilla Hardy Wallace. She graduated from Staunton High School. She worked for 37 years as the custodian at the Staunton schools until her retirement. She attended the Methodist Church and was a member of the Flower Club for many years. She was married to William Andrew Wools June 30, 1943.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William, and one sister Thelma Irene Wallace.
She is survived by two sons Charles Wools (Alice), Staunton, and Hubert Wools (Marilyn), Brazil, sister Rose Elder, Staunton, grandchildren Jeff Wools (Pamela), Mandy Locke (Michael) and Mollie Wools, great-grandchildren Shaylee Ward, Ashley Wools, Christopher Wools, Lindsay Wools and Alexander Locke, and great-great-granddaughter Mya Wools.
Moore Funeral Home was chosen to provide funeral services. Graveside funeral services will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 30, at Summit Lawn Cemetery, with Pastor Doug Parkey officiating. Visitation at the cemetery will be 1-2 p.m., Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 705 Putnam St., Terre Haute, Ind. 47802.
