Marjorie Waldbieser, 93, Mitchell, Ind., formerly of Center Point, died March 27, 2010, in Mitchell Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility.
She had been a resident there for only two weeks. She had moved to Mitchell in 2003.
She was born May 23, 1916, in Clay County, the daughter of Ray Swank and Susan Crafton Swank.
She graduated from Ashboro High School and attended Indiana Central for two years. She began her teaching career and then later completed her Bachelors degree in Education from Indiana State University.
She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association.
She was a teacher for many years in Bowling Green, Cory and Vigo County. In her later years, she taught special needs children in Vigo County. She retired from teaching after 35 years.
She was a member of the Center Point United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Philmon Waldbieser in 1996, and brother Wesley Swank.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law Dale and Jean Waldbieser, Mitchell, grandson Brian Waldbieser and wife Andrea, Mitchell, granddaughter Kris Serigo and husband Jim, Indianapolis, great-grandchildren Stephanie Baker, New Mexico, and Briley Waldbieser, Mitchell, brother and sister-in-law Calvin and Thelma Swank, Center Point, and other extended family.
Services will take place at 1 p.m., Wednesday, at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, with Rev. Myron James officiating. Burial will follow at Center Point Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, and again Wednesday prior to services.
